I am trying to trace my great-great grandmother, Elizabeth Couchman, who was born in London in 1805, according to all the censuses. I can't find any record of her birth.
However, I do see a Richard Couchman and Sarah Oseland marrying in 1803 in St. Benet Fink (!) in London, and I see two boys born to them about seven to nine years later -- which seems a bit of a gap.
My Elizabeth married Henry Willis, and had, in addition to my great-g Sophia, two sons: Richard Henry and Edwin Oseland. This seems like too much of a coincidence.
They lived in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
Can anyone tell me if there is indeed a connection?
