I am hoping someone reads this, and can explain a few things to me about Louis Couc dit Montour.
I have found in the Tanguay Collection on page 440 - MON he married in 1683 to Madeleine Sacokie.
Also on page 142 - COU he married in 1683 Marie Sauvagesse.
Also on page 160 - COT he married 1st in 1681 Madeleine Sacokie, and 2nd to Jeanne Quigesig8k8e (Quigesigoukoue).
My question is, could the 1683 marriage be to Marie Madeleine and she was of the Sacokie(Saco) Tribe, and the word "Sauvagesse" is French for Savage(Native), and by the time the Tanguay Collection was put together, they only knew Louis's 1st wife's Christian name?
Thanks Tiff

Hell Tiff, Pierre Couc dit LaFleur from Cognac France m. Algonquin widow Marie in 1657 at 3 Rivers Canada. I descend from their daughter Marie-Angelique who married Francois Delpee dit Sincerny/Montour in 1682 in Sorel. There is a list of many Couc cousins maintained by Norm Leveille at his web site...Pierre and Marie had a number of children. My connection from the cousin list is attached. You can navigate Norm's site. Google him get the site and then go to My relations to reach the list of cousins to find my alphabetical entry among the many Couc cousins. There is a lot of info for you or perhaps when you see some of the other cousins who may have related info. Norm can tell you what you need to get listed if you connect to Pierre Couc...Ciao Tom Glassel
