Hi
I'm a Cotcher. Bedfordshire UK. Father Douglas Cotcher.
|
Did your father have 2 brothers Fred and Bobby?
|
Thanks for the message, which came as a surprise. I never knew my father and don't know whether he had brothers. I know that his parents ran a guest house in Worthing and that his name was Douglas Henry. When he married my mother they lived in Chelsea, London. I believe this was in 1946.

Hi My Father, whom I did not know, was Douglas Cotcher. Fred I think, was his brother. The family lived in Worthing.

Mervin,
Well it certainly sounds promising..From what I can remember Fred lived in Worthing for years. He died when I was about 12 years old and my father Chris never really went into alot of detail about him. How much do you know ? Are you in contact with anyone else in the family ? Where are you based ? Humm.. if this all works out that makes us ....second cousins ??? speak soon Charlotte PS Merry Christmas !

Hi Charlie
Sorry for the long delay. I've only just found your message. Not used to ancestry.com. My father was Douglas Cotcher.
Through the Internet I have found a cousin in Oregon USA - son of my father's brother. If anything rings a bell I'll spend some time looking up more details.
I knew nothing of my father's side until I found the cousin.
Now I even have photo's. The family is Scottish on the side of my paternal grandfather. Grandmother was Irish. My grandfather was killed on Home Guard duty during WW2 blitz, in Worthing. My father was at Dunkirk, then Africa during the war.
I live in Bedfordshire.
