Hi Randy, Good to hear from you again...yes the desire to locate our ancestors can lead to many false starts and brick walls...the quest for parents of Jame Corse is a case in point...We will most likely never actually uncover his mother and father. John DuLong goes a long way to explain all of the possibilities. Lanark,Scotland area near Glassgow
is the most likely hometown. There were many many Corse/Corss families there in the 1500-1600s...and in view of the many battles between England and Scotland with the outcome sending hundreds of Scots off to Barbados or other islands to slave away on the plantations...it is just a matter of conjecture as to how our James ends up in MA. Many Catlin people came to MA from Barbados...James could have been a boy servant brought along to polish boots etc...
