I am seeking any information on Colonel JAMES M. CORNS,C.S.A.

He was b: ca. 1831 in England and d: after 1880 Census...he is listed in the 1880 Census for Longview, Gregg Co., Texas.
He md. ca. 1850, in Artis Township, Blair Co., PA. #1: Mary Elizabeth Unknown; b: ca.1829 in PA.

He is said to have come to America as a young boy and worked to earn the passage to help his parents come over.
My undocumented parentage for him is: JAMES CORNS and JANE WILLIAMS; both b: in England and d: in Wayne Co., WVA.

He brought his family down through Ohio and settled in Wayne Co., (W)VA, ca. 1860.
When the Civil War broke out, he went with VA and became Captain of a group of Border Rangers Cavalry; which, was later incorporated into the 8th VA Cavalry where he was elected Colonel.

What happened to MARY ELIZABETH UNKNOWN and their children born before the War began? Where did JAMES M. CORNS die?
What is his documented parentage?

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has info.; or, any ideas and thoughts on this.

Thanks!!
