In Abraham's linage, there is ref. to the name SWEGLE. I have two females Thorp/Tharps, who m. Swegle brothers. Both families left NJ., to settle in Fulton Co. IL.

As a Tharp/Thorp decendant, who's family settled next to Daniel Swegle in Fulton Co. IL. I must believe there is a connection. There is also a ref./poss.link to the Breiner family who also left Morris/Hunterdon NJ., to settle in the same area as the Swegles and Tharps/Thorps.

Whitfield Tharp/Thorp, b. 6 Dec. 1814, White Hall? Hunterdon, m. Amy Swallow. of Kingwood, Hunterdon, NJ., 1842.

I have not found links to Whitfields parents or siblings.
