I am looking into my maternal line which is Cockett. We had thought that this was originally Coquet but have since disproved this . In our research we have come across the name Coquet as an emigree from Rouen in France at the time of persecution of the protestants there in the late 1500s. Barnard Coquet settled in London and had a daughter Jaqueline but we were unable to trace any subsequent marriage for her or a record of her death in the UK . He died in 1578 and was buried at St Helens, Bishopsgate in the City of London

Hello - my name is Victor Chapman (Mother's maiden name Blandin). My Mother's Grandfather was Louis Blandin (born Carquefou nr Nantes) and came to Canada (Newfoundland and settled in St Pierre Miquelon and then Halifax). Louis left Carquefou with his 2 brothers (one returned to France). I have just begun my researching and I believe he left for Canada around 1910.I wonder if Josephine and Louis were related? I am looking for the Louis's Parents. Happy to share info if its of any use. Thanks.
