CAMPBELL, OH – A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Fannie M. Copeland will be held Tuesday at noon at the Shiloh Baptist Church. Mrs. Copeland departed this life Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Copeland was born Feb. 10, 1939, in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of Lester Griffin and Vernola Harris.
She was formerly employed with Danridge’s Burgundi Manor as a nurse’s aide, retiring after over 20 years of service. She was a member of the church where she served as the former president of the nurse’s guild. She faithfully attended Sunday school.
She enjoyed going to various thrift stores or garage sales and she loved to travel.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her caring spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, John Copeland, whom she married Nov. 20, 1969; her sons, Clarence and his wife, Nellie Kitchen, Terry Kitchen and William Henry Kitchen, all of Youngstown, Oscar and his wife, La’Juan Kitchen of Warren, Ohio, Larry Copeland of Virginia Beach, Va., Toney and his wife, Crystal Copeland of Tampa Beach, Fla., James “J.J.” and Sean Copeland, both of Campbell, and Howard Southerland of Atlanta; her daughters, Lela and her husband, Dennis Williams of Youngstown and Arlene Bush of Columbus; her sister, Francis Duvaul of Columbus, Ohio; her brothers, Alford and his wife, Libby Griffin, Lester Griffin and his companion, Doris, and Lawrence and his wife, Ollie Harris, all of Youngstown; her god sister, Ann Watkins of Youngstown; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and dear friends, including JoAnn Blunt and Dorothy Fields, both of Youngstown, Corine Brooks and Mary Mcvire, both of Georgia, and Rosie Thompson of Austintown, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Betty Mitchell; a son, Keith Copeland; a sister, Betty Murrell; and two brothers, Kenny and Clifford Griffin.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will be at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
