I am trying to locate the parents of J Henry Cope b. June 5, 1825 in Ohio. Married to Anna M. Mercer or Messer, b. March 9, 1832 in IA.
They were married August 10, 1848, probably in IA Their first son John H. Cope born August 1849 in IA was my great grandfather. The other children were Scott (Winfield), Irene, G.W. (William), Sheridan, C.M. (Charles) and George.

The family moved to Missouri between 1851 and 1857.
