I have been researching my Copas ancestors for several years. I can only go back as far as Aaron Copas. He was born about 1793 in Virginia (maybe present day West Virginia) and died in Gallia Co., OH. He married in 1814 in Columbiana Co., OH. He has many descendants in Ohio and Wisconsin. Does your data base include Aaron? Before Kentucky, where did your Copas family live? If useful, I would be happy to share data. There are early records of related Copas family members settling in Adams Co, OH around 1803/4/5. They came from Berkeley Co, VA/WV. I've always suspected he was connected with them, but have no proof.

I'VE RECENTLY COME ACROSS ALOT OF INFO ON COPAS' IN ADAMS CO. BUT THAT NAME HASN'T COME UP. HOWEVER, MY GGGG GRANDFATHER, GREENBERRY COPAS WAS BORN IN THE MID 1700's,BUT NOT KNOWN WHERE,BUT HIS SON JONATHAN,SR. WAS BORN IN BERKLEY CO.,VA. AROUND 1790, AND HIS CHILDREN WERE ALSO BORN THERE. SO, I THINK THERE IS A STRONG CONNECTION THERE BUT CAN'T FIND AARON. I'LL KEEP LOOKING. MATT

While researching my Parsleys I came across a baby boy named Earnest Parsley (same name as my grandfather) that passed away at 6 days old. I thought maybe my grandparents had another child besides my mother they maybe just never spoke of. I sent away for the death certificate and when it came the parents were Hascal Parsley and Verie Copass. If you would like me to mail or fax this to you please let me know and I will gladly send it to you. Also if you know of any info about Elvis Parsley/Pernie Ray I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank-you for answering my message. Yes, I'd like to have a copy of the death certificate for Earnest Parsley, he was my dad's brother. Fax # 812-829-0322. I really appreciate this. I'm sorry, but I have no info on Elvis Parsley or Pernia Ray. My cousin is helping me with our genealogy, so I'll ask him and see if he knows anything. I'll let you know if he does. Again, thank-you!
