Hi I am trying to find info on my grandfather John Alexander Cookson b.1908- he had two brothers Ben and George. His mothers birth name was Harriet Elizabeth Vince (sylvia).1st marriage to Tidy and had a son David William Tidy, she later married Thomas Bedson Cookson. Harriet died in Canada 1913 -Iknow that John,Ben and George ended up in Barnado's once back in the UK. Ben later returned to Canada and married Hattie? George lived in London. John also lived in the UK. Has anybody got any info on the brothers, dob,dod etc. regards Sarah Collins

My name is Scarlett Cookson, I am a great-granddaughter of George Cookson. George's descendants all live in London.

We know that George was born on 9/01/1912 in Winnipeg, Canada, and that he was orphaned. We do not know when he arrived in England. He died aged 46 of blood poisoning following a failed operation. My Father and Grandfather have both told me that George was a lovely man.

George joined the British Army in 1940. He was married to Florence Orr, they had two children Joan and Allan. Allan, my Grandfather was born in 1943. Unforunatly Joan died aged 17. Allan married Valerie in 1960, they had two children, Jeremy and Alan. Jeremy is my father.

We do not know much about George's family history, but would love to learn more.
