John J Connolly, 81, of Springfield, passed away Friday, November 25, 1994 at 7:30 am at the K of P Home following several years of faiing health. He was born October 24,1913 in Terra Haute Indiana, the son of James and Margaret (Printz) Connolly. John retired from Davidson/Zinn in 1976. He later worked for Meeks Sporting Goods for several years. He was a member of Story Hypes Methodist Church, graduated from St. Mary's High school, Urbana, Ohio. He was also a member of the Kights of Pythias, Ingomar Lodge No 610, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1031.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, A Marie(Warren), four sons and spouses, James of Troy, Ohio, John and Barbara of Findlay, Ohio, Joe of McComb, Ohio, Michael and Nora of Carey, Ohio; two daughters, Sr Patricia Connolly of Immokalee, Florida, Catherine and Don Neiderkohr, og Carey, Ohio; two brothers, George and Eloise Ropp of Urbana, Ohio and Philip and Donna Ropp of Cable, Ohio; two sisters, Lorah Ann Ziegler and Rita Stegall of Urbana; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan; a brother, Floyd Ropp; and two sisters, Helen Ziegler and Mary Brunotte. Friends may call the Conroy Funeral Home from 4:30 to 8:00pm Monday with Ingomar Lodge services at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday in the funeral home with Reverend William Bushong officiating. Burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be supplied by Ingomar Lodge. Contributions may be made to Story Hypes Church, or Knights of Pythias, or your favorite charity.
