Thanks for the reply. My grandfather, William T. Conner was born in Tarrant Co. TX. His Father, whom I'm looking for, was born in MS, I think. My great grandmother, Ann Rebeccda Smith Conner/McBride/Carroll died in Van Zandt Co., TX. When and where wass your Alfred born? Who was he married to? Who were his childred?

Can you give me a little more information on your parents and grand parents and great grand parents if you have any information.

Did you ever find out about your Mary Carty?
I am descended from Denis Carty & Dorothea from Wexford Co. Ireland. I'm trying to connect my ancestors with other Carty's in Wexford. I know that one of Denis' sons named Robert J Carty had a ship named Denis Carty and after Robert's death the ship appears to be owned by a T. Connor.
Do you think there is any connection to your Connor and Carty family?

you are correct that Atvil Sr. parents are James Conner and Polly, he was born in Frederick co, VA.

I am researching Atvill Conner Sr's father and grandfather. I believe Atvill's father's name was James and was born in 1787 but I don't know where he was born or lived. I also have notes that say James' father and mother were named William & Polly Conner but I know little else about them. Any help is appreciated.

I have a Margaret Vawter from my Mom's family, Duggers and Halls, and Bakers, and a Margaret Vauter from my Dad's family, Breedloves, Bryants, Williams. the Vawter marred a Turnbow, who is not related to Breedloves that I know of. Are you aware that Martha "Patsy" Jones Conner (the wife of Abel Conner) and the mother of William Conner is the
daughter of Haskins Jones and Lucy Talley? The processing of the estate of Haskins and Lucy in Illinois shows this. Also the Loudell Jones Handy letter shows this.

If your William H. Conner is the son of Abel and Martha "Patsy" Jones Conner than I am you very distant cousin. My line comes from Martha "Patsy" Jones Conner's sister Sarah Ann Jones who married William Benjamin Franklin in Illinois.

Henry Jackson Conner to son George Lacy Conner to son Wiley Coleman Conner to daughter Mildred Ercell Conner to son William Carlton Ansley to daughter Jeanne Lynn Ansley (that's me :)
So Henry is my gr-gr-gr grandfather and George is my gr-gr grandfather.
My dad is also researching the line. He's been to Brunswick Co doing research and to various gravesites. One link you can look through is here

I do not have a middle name for George Conner. The name Jackson is often attributed to Henry Conner, though I have never seen an actual source for this.

Ann did you ever find any more info on your James and Mary Conner. As I have said in the past, these are my family members also and I'm still digging around and haven't hit on much myself. Would love to know if you have found anything else. Thanks Sandra

I don't know if it will help you, but I do have one Conner from about the same time and similar location (KY rather than OH). I know when and where she was born, who she married, her children, and when she died. I have not been able to find anything else about her or her parents that is definitive, however.

A few years ago I bought a lot of vintage pictures of children on Ebay. Since I have started searching for my ancestors, I have realized how important pictures can be.

I have in my possesion a picture taken in 1944 of three children. Barbara, William and Sharon O'Conner. The girls have gigantic bows in their hair.

If anyone is related to these children, let me know and the picture is yours.
