Hello;
I realize this is a long shot, but I'm wondering if there is other info on the list about the William Connell you mention in the Deed of 1774.

My great grandfather was William Connell, b. Sept 6, 1949{source: Gravestone} in N.C.possibly in either Ridgeway or Littleton{source:written information in a photo album}

Ridgeway is in present-day Warren County.

Littleton is in an area between Halifax, Warren and Franklin Cos, according to www.usa.com.

I have yet to definitively locate William's parents in censuses. I did find a William Connell with a son William age 1 yr., in the1850 US Census Far River District , Granville Co NC. There is only 1 other child listed, Susan, age 4.

It appears that Halifax, Warren, Franklin, Granville and Edgecombe were all in a cluster in the North of the state. I'm wondering if there is some connection between my Wm. Connell and the William Connell in the 1774 Deed.
