Looking for information on a George Connell, possibly O'Connell, who spent 27 years in the Imperial Army and was for 2 years on the staff of the Commonwealth Military Forces, volunteered for the Crimean War but was rejected being too young. Connell went on to participate in the American Civil War and the Boer War. George Connell’s brother, Lieutenant Charles John Connell awarded the decoration of the French Legion of Honour. George Connell died in September 1920 in Parkside, South Australia. George’s wife had passed away in 1907.
