Classification: Query
Surnames: Conn, Gentry
One of the Simon Conn's in Cherokee Co, GA was my direct ancestor. Simon S. Conn was b/ca 1826 in GA, and he married Alsrey Gentry in 1850 Cherokee Co, GA. Simon was the son of Joseph and Hannah Conn; and by 1860 all were in St. Clair Co, AL. I am descended through Simon's son Simon Jr. I don't yet know the parents of Joseph.

There was another Simean/Simon b/ca 1824 GA who was in the 1880 Marshall Co, AL census. He may be one from Cherokee co, GA; as he is living near my Conns who were from there. I have another Simon Conn listed in my database; Simon A b/ca 1824, who married Rebecca Lyle in 1848 in Hall Co, GA. They were in the 1850 Cherokee Co, GA Census. This may be the same Simon as the one in the 1880 Marshall Co, AL, with Rebecca being his first wife. I also have a Simon b/bef 1800 as the son of John and Elizabeth Conn. They were in Franklin Co, GA but may have also lived in Cherokee Co, GA. According to my information, this Simon was the brother of Samuel b/ca 1809, who married Elizabeth Ingram and fathered James Madison.

Am interested in the information you show for these Conns, as I am trying to sort them all out, and figure out how they are all related to my Conns. I suspect they may be cousins and uncles to my Conns.

Please email me at poetmom@aol.com as I rarely check the boards.

Thanks
Briana Felch, Madison, AL
