Surnames: Conaghan Duggan,Doohan
Looking for information on my grandfather's family, Benard's Conaghan born County Donegal about 1836, arrived in australa around 1859 married Ellen Duggan/Doohan and had children Mary, James,Bernard Majorie (Fanny) Charles, John, Thomas, Cornelius and Francis (twins). We have found Bernard's sister arriving in Australia in 1878 but no other brothers and sisters. It has been suggested they were from Lossett, Gartan Parish, are the names familiar to anyone? They stuck to the Irsh naming conventions of the time so we can assume, as Benard's father's name was James and Ellen's mother's name was Mary the other name's are siblings of Ellen and Bernard. I would be do grateful for even some thoughts

Hi there - I have a James CONAGHAN (b c1851) coming from Lossett arriving in New Zealand in approx 1883, allegedly via Australia but I can't locate shipping records. His parents were James Conaghan (Farmer) and Mary O'DONNELL. I have no siblings for him but Bernard was a family name here and so I have some excitement reading your message. Have you got any further?
Cheers
Christine

Hi Christine I recall discussing our family names with you recently and I asked for your personal email address, did you receive my email as it had family names etc in it? Let me know and I will resend. Mary
