You may have the right Connection. Ernest E. Commins was my Father I don't know if this was his Mother and Father are not? but think it is. I will ask my Mother if this info is right. I was told that my Dads parents died when he was very young and the family was split up.I think he had two brother's but I'm not sure of that, but he had one sister I know because I met her once, her name was Minny {Commins} Stark and she had one dauther name Francis Stark, at that time they lived in the Southern part of MI. That was about 35 years ago, I was 13 when my older brother James and I visited Minny and Francis.
Are you kin to the Commins? If you have more info. would like to hear from you. Thanks for your time, Darrell

Hi Darrell,
I believe we also have the correct connection. The Ernest E. Commins I'm searching for had a birth date of 19 JUN 1930. Is the same as your father? Also my Ernest had a sister named Minnie although I'm not sure about the daughter named Francis. The Commins I'm searching lived in Southern Michigan in the Niles, Coldwater and Wateruliet area as well as in Montcalma area. Are we still talking about the same family? I'm anoxious to hear more from you. The Commins and I are cousins. Looking forward to hearing from you. Darla

Hi Darrell, I did some checking with OUR cousin tonight and we are of the same family. Mary (COMMINS) Gallimore is the daughter of William (Bill) Jason COMMINS and Jennie May Loughin. Mary is the youngest of 10 children. Her family was seperated and some went to foster care and some were adopted. Her home is in South Bend, IN. and her number is: (219) 287-3233 and she'd love to hear from you. We believe you are her favorite uncle's son. Was your father's name Ernest and does your brother live in Texas with or near you? She remembers a James COMMINS living in Texas.

As for me - Mary and I are cousins and I live in Missouri - transplanted from Michigan.

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Hello,
I have been tracing my Commins relatives of the Dowagiac and Watervliet area in southwest Michigan. Here's a quick summary. Do you see any connection?
Thomas Commins of Ardee, County Louth, Ireland came to the United States in the early 1850's. His sister, Catherine Commins McCartney (my great-grandmother) was already living in Milan, Ohio (near Sandusky, Ohio). Thomas married Mary Mullen of County Tyrone in Sandusky in 1855. They had 4 children in Ohio (Mary Ann or Mary Jane, b. 1857, Julia, b. 1859, Dennis, b. 1860, and Emma, b. 1861). Then they moved to Cass County in southwest Michigan where Thomas's brother Dennis lived. Thomas and Mary had 8 more children: Frank, Lewis, Fred, Will, Charles, Augustus, Edward, and John.
I know the descendants of all these 12 children except for Lewis and Dennis. The last we knew about Lewis and Dennis was in the early 1900's when they lived in Minnesota and then later Nevada (Dennis). There is a family story that Lewis may have moved to the wheat fields of Alberta, Canada.
Thanks for any information you have.
