Hi, I just came across this message board and am so pleased to see others trying to link up the Comeaus. I am working on my son's family tree and thus would like to know about the Comeaus. My husband and I visited Comeauville Mategan (sp?) a long time ago. We live in New Hampshire.

Please, if anyone can help with:
Louis Edward(?)Comeau
born in 1894 in Digby County
married Marie Lena LeBlanc on 8/7/1920
who was born 6/5/1898 also in Digby County
they emigrated to Lynn, MA and had 4 children: Lorraine Mary, Luke Charles, Antoine John, and Joseph Edward. Luke was my husband's father.

I'm trying to find info on Louis Marie's parents - her's what I have so far:
- Louis mother's name was Monique and she was born in 1873; his father's name was Edward Comeau. Does anyone know Monique's last name, when Edward was born, when either of them died, and did Louis have any brothers or sisters? Louis went to sea at age 14 to earn money to send back to the family.

- Marie Lena (LeBlanc) Comeau - her dad's name was Symphorien LeBlanc - that's all I know about him. Her mother's name was Therese Mary COMEAU - yes, Comeau appears on both sides of the family. Symphorien and Therese were married on 2/13/1888. Marie had a sister, Emily, who married Miday (sp?) Maillette (sp?) and also lived in Massachusetts. Marie also has (had) a brother named Dennis who stayed in Metegan. (My husband was named after him.) Does any of this sound familiar? If you can help I would be most grateful, not to mention that the extended family down here would be so happy to find more ancestors!

Hi, I am trying to find my great great grandfathers parents. His name was toussaint or tousant comeau, I know he was born in abt 1865 In suten quebec cananda. He was married to Jane Hudson and had four children. Antoinette comeau(concello),Joseph Comeau,Clarence comeau, And gertrude m. Comeau(king,Mcleod). I know toussaint was either blackfoot or mohawk indian and grew up on a reservation in suten quebec cananda. i heard from family that all of toussaints records burned in some courthouse fire or something. for some reason i cant find anything past him can anyone please help, or have any sugestions. thanks crystal

Does anyone have the connection between Claude Comeau(-1507, son of Guy Comeau-1450) and Mary Medici and her mother Maria Medici? I am looking for a link between Maria Medici and Charles De Valois 1470(King of France). I believe Mary was illegitimate, but I cannot find any documentation anywhere.

Armand J. Comeau - Woonsocket

Armand J. Comeau, 94, of Elm Street, Woonsocket,RI died Feb. 26 in Mount St. Francis Health Center.

He was the husband of Claudette (Bouvier) Comeau; they had been married for eight years. Born July 3, 1912, in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Felix and Agnes (Bisaillon) Comeau. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was the founder and owner of Armand Comeau Flag & Flag Poles, which he started in 1950 and continued to operate with his wife, and also owned the former F & A Awning Co. He was a life member and served as an officer of the Woonsocket Elk's and he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Frances Chabot of Manchester, Conn. A brother and three sisters predeceased him.

His funeral will be held Thursday, March 1, at 10 a.m. from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church, 323 Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Wrentham Road, Bellingham, Mass. Calling hours are Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

There are lots of Hilarion Comeau around and I can't seem to place him or his wife Katie (or Hattie) born 1855. They are parents of a son Daniel (Déniel or Donald). I found some evidence that Hilarion's father may be Luc Comeau born ca 1812 and Elizabeth born ca 1826 but am hoping to confirm this. Does anybody know?

**I am not sure of the month on this. The first entry on this page and for this one, the month isn't stated, instead " - ditto mark appears. The births on the page before were juin however on this page these first two entries have just the ditto marks but the third entry gives the month juin. What then confuses things is that there is then another birth with " ditto mark then two births listed for avril. So, is this birth supposed to be juin or mai or what ? Because of this mix of months, I'm not certain this birth is juin.

Willie / Wilfred ROBICHAUD was born in Inkerman Parish,Gloucester,NB in 1905. He was the illigitimate s/o Sophie COMEAU d/o Wm. COMEAU and Margaret BOUDREAU. Sophie was b. 1880. In 1908 she m. Felicien ROBICHAUD who raised Willie as his own. I know this is a real needle in the haystack but, does anyone know who Willie's birth father was? Also 1871 & 1881 has a Sarah (Margaret): age 25 & 40 , ages don't match for 10 yrs, so maybe two separate people.

Does this ring a bell with any Comeau from NS or MA?

There is Augustin Comeau, son of Basil Comeau and Marguerite Maillet. He may be born in 1848 (but I've seen 1828 as well) and his second marriage was to Émilie Comeau.

Looking for info on Lena Comeau (possibly Helena or Helene) born approx 1930 in Bathurst NB, Canada.I have no idea if she's still living, or what her married name would be. I know she was born and raised in or near Bathurst and was from a large family. Her first language was French. I also know she went to work in Halifax, NS, Canada and was there at least in the Spring/Summer of 1950. If anyone can help, or at least point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

1. Stephen White says that the parents of Pierre Comeau were *not* Jean de Creancy and Marguerite Ocquidem and gives several persuasive reasons. And yet, I see many many sites and gedcoms that show this very relationship.

2. Many sites and gedcoms show that Rose Bayon immigrated to Acadia with her father on the St-Jehan in 1636 with her father, but I see no indication of this in the passenger list.

Is there a resolution to these situations, or does one just choose a scenario and "go with it?"

I need help in finding info about my grandmother's family. Her maiden name was Adele Mary Comeau (married Adele Mary Wells). She had a few sisters. I remember Louise and MaryAnne. She also had a brother Alphonse. She was born in 1895. Grandmom grew up in Meteghan and then moved to the US as a young woman. She lived around the Phildelphia area and died in the early 60's. I do not know her parent's names. It's as though her family died and took their history with them. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Julie Comeau (daughter of Athanase) was married to Jules Losier (son of Augustin Losier and Osithe Brideau)

I also have other Comeau children (daughters) listed as Marguerite and Dosithe.

Are these names correct?

Can anyone confirm that Athanase was married to Madeleine Thibodeau, and quote a source for her as well since I have no other info on her at all. If you can provide her parents and grandparents, that would be nice as well.

Weymouth, Mass., and Pauline Holbrook of Florida; a sister, Agnes LeBlanc
of Nova Scotia, Canada; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a
great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Thomas Cahill, and two sons, Thomas
Cahill and Edward Cahill, died previously. There will be no calling hours or
services. Affordable Funeral and Cremation Services Inc. is in charge of the

There were 4 homesteaders (abt 1892) on Lake McDonald before the park was created. Denis Comeau,wife Lydia Wing, Frank Kelly, Milo Apgar, and Frank Geduhn. There is an artical in the Hungry Horse News, Thursday, July 25, 2002 (Columbia Falls, MT)'Inholder recalls Lake McDonald history' featuring Comeau granddaughter that has lived there all her long life. Other names in this artical are Eddie Cruger, Jefferson Davis, Lollie Stanton, Ace Powell, Beatrice Macomber and V. O. Vaught." Vaught interviewed the locals and recorded his observations in a 400 page, unpublished typewritten manuscript that Thema Powell now owns." People who own private property in Glacier National Park are refered to as Inholders. Hope this helps with your research.

MANCHESTER-Roberta M. Comeau, 77, of Pariseau Apartments, died March 5 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was born in Francestown, the daughter of William and Elizabeth McLine. She graduated from Peterborough High School. Comeau worked for many years as a medical records librarian at Massachusetts General Hospital before moving to Manchester. Survivors include two sons, Tom Colburn and Steve Colburn, both of Grafton; a daughter, Judy Lessard of Peterborough; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
