Arnold E. Coman, 97, formerly of Waldron, Michigan passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Morningside Assisted Living in Greenwood, South Carolina.
He was born August 4, 1914, in Millcreek Twp., Williams County, Ohio, the son of Hugh and Olive (Kibler) Coman.
He married Lilah Schrag on March 20, 1940, and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2009.
Arnold was a farmer most of his life and was also employed at Waldron Industries and Allied Products in Hillsdale.
He graduated of Waldron High School Class of 1933, served on the Waldron Board of Education for 13 years and was a member of Waldron Wesleyan Church.
Arnold and Lilah moved to Virginia in 1981 and then to Florida in 1991 where they were members of the Chapel of All Faith Church in Lady Lake, Florida.
Surviving Arnold are four daughters, Carolyn (James) Hubbard of Williamson, New York, Betty (Walter) Wagner of Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania, Shirley Cooner of Greenwood, South Carolina and Bonnie (Dave) Brinckerhoff of Avoca, New York; one son, Robert (Barbara) Coman of Waxhaw, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Lela Spray and Donna Reighter and three brothers, Wayne, Russell, and Dale in infancy.
Funeral services for Arnold will be Friday, March 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Waldron Wesleyan Church with Pastor Andrew Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in Waldron Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Waldron.
