Does anyone know what originality the last name of Comalander is? We need the information for a school project.

Hello, I am a grandaughter to William Oliver Comalander. The Comalander name is suppose to be Irish.I have two other spellings of the name that i have found through my research. Those spellings are Comalander/Comalandier/Comolander.I hope this helps you out! Sincerely,Teresa Waight

My Grandfather was William Oliver Comalander born May 20,1909 and died July 1975won't share any of this information with me.William Oliver was born in Clark County Alabama and had 5 other brothers,Wesley,Lesley,Robert,Memphis Ivans, and Jim.Jim was the oldest and my grandfather was the youngest.Jim received land from the Cherokees and lived his life on that land in Pensacola Florida.My Grandfather also had 4 sisters,Murdie Roley(who married one of the brothers who killed her father)Susie Holt,Audrey Nichols,and Maggie Lucrissi Cross Glass.You can e-mail me at terriwaight@hotmail.com.Sincerely,Teresa Waight

My last name originated from the Comalander name. My ancestors come from S. Carolina as I understand and are related to Jesse and Jacob Comalander.

Ron, Thanks for your reply. What info. do you have about Jesse Comalander? I know that Jesse was born in South Carolina circa 1804 and came with his family to Dallas Co. Ala. in the early 1800's. I descend from his daughter Catherine who first married Adam Crusious and then James Matheson in 1859. It is through this second marriage that I descend. I had an Uncle Oliver Comalander. My father's name was Wesley Dove Comalander (died in 1938) and his father's name was Frank Comalander. They were from Alabama. My father had a brother named Robert and one named Evans and sisters named Susan and Margaret.

I have been told that my great, great, great grandfather was a stowaway on a ship from Scotland, and that he got off at Charleston, South Carolina. I just learned that there were Comalanders in Chapin, South Carolina, which, I think, is near Columbia.

I am a Comalander. As far as I know my family is in South Carolina, Texas, Alabama. I also supposedly have a cousin not much older than I from Texas (I am 19 almost 20). My great grandfather is Robert Comalander, sr. My great uncle is Robert Comalander, Jr. and my father is Steven Comalander aka Robert Steven Hutchinson. His father was Dell Hutchinson. His mother Virginia Comalander. (maiden name.) Any questions...email me.
