Classification: Query
Jonathan H. b abt 1804. lived in Washington County, TN. Wife Nancy (maiden name not known).
children: Richard N (1840), Robert A.(1842), Jefferson P (1846), Sarah Emily (1850), Ebenezer (1851) and Mary Alice (1853).

These four sons are listed with their parents on the 1850 census for Washington Co., TN. The daughters are deceased at that time. Robert, the two girls and the parents are listed as buried in the Old Salem Presbyterian Cemetery in Washington Co., TN. I do not have anything additional on Jefferson. There is a marriage license for R.N. Collom and Miss Margaret Hunt dated 16 Mar 1892 in Washington Co., TN. I do not have additional data other than that for Richard. Ebenezer removed to AR where he married Martha E. Massey and had children.

I am trying to locate the parents of a John F. Collom who was born in TN abt 1838 and moved to AR and married a Lucy Collom. This John Collom died during the Civil War and is probably buried in Canton, MS. Lucy remained a widow and I believe eventually collected a widow's pension.

There is yet another John Collom, (who also has a wife named Lucy). This one is was born about 1794 and is the father of James Harvey Collom and he and Lucy are listed in the 1850 census as living in AR, quite near this son. I don't have any information regarding any additional children for this Lucy and John Collom, which strikes me as a bit odd.

James Harvey Collom was married at least 3 times. His first wife is listed on the 1850 census as Louisa J. I have no maiden name for her, nor do I have any idea where they married. I am unsure of where in TN this James Harvey Collom was born, but all of his children (beginning about 1844) were born in AR. I have the information on his 2nd and 3rd wives (they were sisters, the third wife being a widow when they married, she and her first husband were the parents of Martha E. Massey who is mentioned above as marrying Ebenezer Collom).

It has taken me quite some time to get this tree somewhat straightened out, thanks to an earlier, over-enthusiastic researcher who apparently morphed all of these families into one, deciding that the second wife gave birth to almost all of the children and at least one grandchild (including Ebenezer who doesn't even belong to her husband or any of his wives and later marries a daughter of the family!)

Does anyone have a missing John F. Collom b. 1838? Because of the age of this John F. Collom I don't know if he may be a son of Jonathan back in TN (and therefore a brother of Ebenezer)or of some other Collom.
