Samuel B. Collins was a physician in Laporte, Indiana known for his cure for opium addiction (which was commonly used in the 1800s). My 3rd great-grandfather Porter W. Taylor was his Chief Clerk and Correspondant and later became a physician himself.
If you know anything about Dr. Collin's office or emlpoyee information, I would love to see if my ancester is at all mentioned. I am curious if he became a physician under Dr. Collins or if he was just working for him as the title above to get his foot in the door of medicine. Thank you!
