Hi Ollie - Names often got turned around in the census so I wouldn't worry much whether it is Hatcher A or Andrew H, really. According to the 1930 census in Ashland where he is with Olive he is age 38 which would make him b about 1892....that would seem to agree with his burial recs & WI & WWII & SSDI. If Henry had been born in 1880 he would have been only 12 when Hatcher/Andrew was born.
Andrew Hatcher Cole:
WWI - filled out registration 05 Jun 1917 - he was single, b 21 Jan 1892 Caroline Co VA, had gray eyes, light hair, slender, medium build.
WWII b 21 Jan 1892 Caroline Co, nearest relative - Mrs. Blanche Cole, wife
Woodland Cemetery, Ashland - 21 Jan 1892 - 11 Dec 1978 & Blanche buried there also 06 Nov 1896-22 Dec 1977
1900 Henry, Hanover, VA:
Henry J Cole age 43 b Sep 1856 married 1896
Lula 37 May 1863 (2nd wife)(doesn't agree with her tombstone)
Harry 2 Sep 1897
Roy 1 Feb 1899
Clinton 22 Dec 1877
Bessie 20 Feb 1880
Carry B 16 May 1884
Amanda 14 Jan 1886
Maud A 13 Apr 1887
Clara D 10 Jan 1890
ANDREW H 9 May 1891 (this doesn't agree with the other birth records we have above)
Emett 5 Nov 1894
Henry Judson Cole buried at Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Atlee Station, Hanover, VA 07 Sep 1855-05 Apr 1915 and 2nd wife Lura E Jones Sep 1857-24 Oct 1924
I agree that Sallie would have been too old for the later children but there is no other info. I could only pass on to you what I found & I will say again that there were NO sources.
There doesn't seem to be any other Henry Judsons or Andrew Hatchers at all in the Hanover area to add to the confusion so I think this is the right family.
