Californian Dies On Aberdeen Visit
William O. Cole from California, who was visiting his son, Robert E. Cole, of 518 Harriman street, died unexpectedly shortly before noon today while in the South Beach area. He was pronounced dead on arrival at an Aberdeen hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Eldering company.

Funeral services for Capt. William Oliver Cole, 71, 400 North Grant street, who died while on a clam digging expedition at Grayland, will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Eldering chapel with the Rev. Jackson Wilcox officiating.
Captain Cole came in the Harbor in 1906 and had been a resident of the area since. He had fished out of California ports but had retired in 1955.
He was engaged in the tugboat business on the Harbor. While a young man, he worked in tugboats on the Columbia river.
Surviors include a son, Robert E. Cole of Aberdeen, three daughters; Mrs. Lois Somero of Aberdeen, Mrs. Laura Ford of Hoquiam, and Mrs. Lillian Jamieson of Portland; a brother Frank of Portland. Thirteen grandchildren and four great grand children also survive.
Honorary pallbearers will be Capt. Lloyd Slover, Chesley Huble, Charles Wagner, Ransom Minkler, William Tatten and Joe Thein. Active pallbearers will be Gerald and Mitchel Cole and Charles Jamieson, all grandsons of Captain Cole, and Albert Falk, Ray Kangas and Sulo Kangas.
