I am still looking for my great grandfather, Querino Colaiacovo. I think he was from L'Aquila, Italy, but I am not sure. I have nothing on him expect that he was born on August 4, 1885. He was married to Anna Bassano and they had 4 children, my grandmother Rose, being the oldest. I really could us some help. I am completely stumped. I know of a Carlo Colaiacovo. He's a defenseman with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. He's about 23-25 years old. He was born in the Toronto area.

What were the names of the people who signed as god-parents? I know of Colaiacovo's in Newark, NJ. at that time.

My husband's family is also from Pratola Peligina and also immigrated to Canada in mid 1950's. Do you know of any other names other than Emilio and Loreto. I have some of my fatehr in law's siblings and children but not all. My Father In Law was Salvatore Colaiacovo and his father was Ferdinando. Some of his brothers went to Venzuela. Salvatore and his brother Domenico came here to Halifax, Nova Scotia.

My husband's family is from Pratola Peligna, Abruzzi region, Italy. His father and uncle immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia in the mid- 1950's. And there are now five of their children, some with even more children in Halifax Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. I know of some relative information on those in Italy but am looking for more. My father in law was Salvatore and his father Ferdinando.

My whole family was born and raised in Protola Peligna. My grandfather was born in Protola Peligna, his name too was Emilio. My father, Loreto, was born in Protola but later emigrated to Canada.

I am not sure about the given names that you have mentioned but my father's and his father's name is James Conallen. Was told that my great grandfather was the one that changed the name from something like Cuhnallan to Conallen about that time (1900-1920). BTW: its all Irish in my family.
