Paul Colabella, marine consultant, on Sayreville redevelopment panel

A Mass for Paul Colabella, 71, of Sayreville will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Marys Church, South Amboy, after the funeral from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin.
Mr. Colabella, who died Saturday in the JFK Medical Center, Edison, owned Coastwise Inc., a marine consulting company in New York and New Jersey for 41 years. He also owned the Rossville Marine Terminal Inc. in Staten Island.
Mr. Colabella was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
A member of the Perth Amboy and Sayreville Democratic Organization, he was appointed commissioner of the Sayreville Redevelopment Agency and was involved with the Perth Amboy Waterfront Redevelopment during the 1970s.
He was a licensed sea captain and airplane pilot and a member of the Springfield Indian Motorcycle Club, the Colonia Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, the Old Timers Racing Club and the Propeller Club of New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Colabella was also a member of the Sayreville Cable Board and an usher at St. Marys Church.
Born in Manhattan, he lived in Staten Island and Perth Amboy for 25 years before moving to Sayreville seven years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite; daughters, Christine Duffy and Linda; a son, Fred; a half-brother, Ronald Poggi, and four grandchildren.
