Surnames: Coker, Stinnett
I am also researching African American Cokers. Mine are from Marion Co., AR, and later Joplin, MO. My great-grandfather was George W. Coker, born in the 1850s. He married Anna Stinnett. His sister Lettie Coker married Anna's brother, Thomas Stinnett. His sister Lizzie Coker married Anna's other brother, John Stinnett. They all lived in the Yellville area until after 1910, then moved to Joplin, MO in time for the 1920 census. Thomas and Lettie and John and Lizzie also lived in Muskogee, OK for while. I don't know where they were before Arkansas - all the census records I've seen say they were born there.

George and Anna's children were Maud, William, Logan, Lonnie, Myrtle, Randolph and Bertha.
