Surnames: Cokeley, Suggitt, Heighes, Eyck
Looking for any family connections to B. Frank Cokely. He was born in Iowa. His father was Edmund Cokely, 1815 - 1907. Edmund was born in Virginia and died in Vinton, Iowa. He was the father of 11 children. One son, B. Frank Cokely, moved to Lethbridge, Canada and was married to Ella Eyck. Frank had at least 2 children, Edith Estella Cokely and Leroy S. Cokely. Edith married Harry Suggitt and continued to live in the Lethbridge, Canada area. Some of their Children may have moved to the central Washington area. Leroy S. Cokely married Gertrude Hills Heighes and lived in West Vancouver, B. C. Both LeRoy and Gertrude are buried in the Masonic Cemetary, Burnaby, B. C.

Any information on these families would be very helpful and appreciated.

Wonder if we can find some connection? Interesting to me that Edmund Cokely died in Vinton,Iowa. Elizabeth Springstead b.1-15-1815 Canada married Peter Ten Eyck b.6-16-1812 Ontario, Canada. She died 1-10-1895 in Iowa as did he on 9-6-1888. Peter's brother, Caspar, married Phoebe Ward 5-9-1843 in Ontario. He died in the Civil War. Phoebe and another T.E.brother, William S., are buried in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt,Benton Co.,IA. That's about 90 miles from Vinton, Clinton Co.,IA. And Barnet TenEyck was 18yrs.old when he enlisted 11/5/1863,mustered into "D" Co. IA 9th Cavalry, mustered out 2/28/1866 at Little Rock,AR, born in Canada.I have no concrete proof that Barnett's parents were Caspar and Phoebe Ward Ten Eyck however,1880 census shows two daughters, Alice and Ella.Barnett's wife was Darcus Wood b.1853 Canada West died 3-22-1908/9,buried in Vinton,Benton Co.IA as is her mother, Elizabeth Taulner Wood. The name Case may be connected with a TenEycke family in Canada.

Not offhand but please tell me what you know and I will tell you what I know as well! Perhaps you know something that can set in motion some understanding of why a TenEyck would bear the Case surname as his middle name! I stand to learn more about Springstead too, I hope!
I do share but wish to see what you know, please and thanks!

I have been researching the Case family. My great grandfather is George William Case. He death cert. indicates he was born in Sweiburg, Canada. Other records show Ontario. I could not find Sweiburg. He was married to Sarah Elizabeth Smith. Her death cert. indicates her middle name to be Victoria so I am not sure which is the correct middle name. They came to the US in the 1890's from Ontario. I was told that George has 2 half brothers. I was recently talking to the Springstead family and 2 of the family members have Case as middle names. I understand that Leo came to the US from Hamilton, Ontario. I hoping to find something on the Case name through the Springstead name.
I am sorry I don't have anything on the Teneyck name but you say Case is also a middle name used in their family. I hope this is some help to you. If you come up with anything, I would be interested. I will keep you posted on my findings. Laurie

It may very well be that your Smith was Sarah Elizabeth Victoria Smith because according to the study of the Canadian Teneycke families, one middle name just did not
suffice.I give you as an example Elias Leslie Casey Teneycke.
Charles Henry Dennis Teneycke is another.Who told you that George has 2 half brothers? Do you know who they were, where and when they were born?Don't worry that you have nothing on the Teneyck name.I know two other people looking for the same connections so we need to help one another!
One of them is Canadian and may know about Sweiburg.

It was my father's cousin who told me about the 2 half brothers. This cousin had very little info or interest and is now deceased. He didn't have names or locations for the brothers.
