I checked with my uncle and my grandpa Francis James coakley would have been 20 and did in fact boast about it only costing 5 pounds to travel to America. He, my grandma, mom and amount lived on 14th edge of Greenwich village in ny in th 50s. My uncle believes his grandmother's name was Esther Russell, but told me to check with his cousin John whose father was Francis s brother. Hope u r still searching. Francis married my grandma Annie bennett 1921.

The name on my dad's birth certificate was 'Francis Cokeley'...but I later learned that a Michael Cokeley lived in the area of my granmom (she was 15,he 19)....& we suspect that he was the father of my dad...they never married. Dennis Cokeley (dad of Michael) was from Ireland.
