My mother was a Coiley from upstate NY. I have only been able to trace back to my great grandfather William Coiley, whose stone is at Scipio Center (St. Bernard's parish). Family lore had it that he died in France at age 18 during the war and he was in France, but I found his stone a few years ago with the rest of my Casler relatives - he married Loretta Casler. My grandfather, William Clarence, was born shortly after his father died. Anyone have any input? Thank you! (My uncle, who is 53 or so, is the only living male left of this line).

In photos my paternal grandmother, EVA PERRAULT, has Indian written all over and if I recall correctly, it was Erie. Where she met my grandfather I don't know. Mt father has dark hair but didn't bear any indigenous traits otherwise. I vaguely recall entering this site, but it would have to have been many months ago. How did you come upon it? From where does your Coiley emanate?

They were very much Indian although the Indian line started to thin out a lot now my daughters are mainly about 30 percent black 65 percent white and 5 percent Indian but they still bear the Indian skin tone where it has the reddish undertones. Its almost amazing how my ex-husband and my oldest daughter are fanscinated with horses like it just in their blood! Im not sure where they were originally from I think south somewhere. I know my childrens great aunt who was bi-racia was married many years ago to a prejudiced man who she never told she had black in her he thought she was white indian and mexican and tragically when he found out her father was part black he killed her. I was just trying to research a little bit of my childrens history I will get more info on where their ancestors where from.
