Hello everyone!
Looks like we have some relatives in common. I am very new to geneology (this week), but it has become a very addictive habit. I am the great-grandson of John T. Coile, brother of Arthur and Amanda Coile. My grandfather was Edmond Diamond Coile. Now I know the his middle name came from his Uncle Arthur, my father did not know.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has found a relative before James Coil(e), born in 1800 in NC, and/or the name of the two brothers who came across from Ireland. It would also be helpful to know where in Ireland they came from.
After I get a little further along, I will post again with what I have found. Any help from you guys would be appreciated.

Josh, I have visited your site. That's where I got started, when I made a connection to my descendants on your page. I also am a descendant of James Coil. I am now trying to go back further, beyond James Coil. A couple of questions:
Have you had any luck finding more info on James Coil (born 8-1-1800, NC)? Brothers, sisters, parents, birth location in NC? What record(s) did you find that puts his birth in NC?
Do you believe James Coil is the first generation born in the US? Any idea where in Ireland we may have immigrated from?
The link for the descendants of my great-grandfather, John T. Coile, goes to the Amanda Pearl Coile page. Do you have a page for John T. Coile and his descendants? If not, I should be able to give you the info on all of his descendants.
Sorry for all of the questions, but any tidbits of info you may have that are not on your website would be helpful.
Thanks for your help!

John Thomas Coile was the 2nd son born to the Rev. James Nicholas Coile and his Susan Elvira McCurdy in Madison (Co?) Ga. He was born 17 Dec 1851 and is the grandson of the Warren Coile who came to Ga from VA. He is an older brother of mt grandfather, Franklin West Coile

Thanks Betty. My great-grandfathers middle name was Thurmond. I can't believe our mutual relatives lived in the same area and we have not been able to make a connection!

When my brothrer, Richard Lee Coile, and I began searching, we found little. But we were not searching the right way all the time, as we later learned. I have lost touch with my father's twin sister's only child, Bobby Eubank/ Bob is older than I by a few years. I do not know how many. He was in the merchant marine service. I last saw him when I was about 4 oer 5. To me he looked BIG. I wish I knew what caused the move toward sereratis, among these Coile Children. I never ever saw my father's brother, Turner., Though I did speak with him via phone way, e way back. Dad;s twin, Florence, I do remember seeing, but the memory is vague. Aunts Louise, Erin, and Florie I do remember. I did contact them as an adult. There are usually reasons why a family's children lose contact with one another. We should check this out. Number one split cause is usually money/property. Religion usually comes in later' if at all. Shall we seek what happened to cause the no contact rift, or should be all just occupy us with recementing our kinship. glad to hear from you. betty

Tim, Amanda Pearl Coile was my grandmother. I have all of her many descendants, but not all of John T. Coile's. Would you like to exchange info? If so, please e-mail me at shflynt@webtv.netThanks. Shirley Flynt

Was he from Crawford, GA? If it's the same one, we may be related. The one from Crawford was my great grandfather. I'm also new to this genealogy stuff.

We are cousins, Edmond was my grandfather. You are Billy Coile's granddaughter? If so, I remember you, but you were a little girl the last time I saw you.
As for geneology, I started with the info on Josh Funderburke's site. His info goes back to James Coile born in 1800 in NC. I have not been able to find out any additional information yet. I am also relatively new to this.
Drop me an e-mail sometime.

That would be great....some of my info is still sketchy, but I will be glad to share what I have. I have been focusing on going back further than James Coile born in 1800 in NC, so I haven't spent a lot of time yet filling in the info on the "closer" relatives. Have you had any luck finding any more info about James?
