It's been a while since the previous posting, but I am now to the Cogdill part of our family and hope you know something about them. My husband's great-grandfather was Thomas Cogdill. He lived in TN, possibly Newport, but that is all I know except that he married Sally Ann Rathbone and had a child named Pearl Cogdill. Does any of this ring a bell?
I was reading more posts between yourself and June Joyner and saw the name Thomas somewhere and was hoping this is the same family. I would be glad to share what I have on the rest of his family if this is the correct family.
Thanks so much.

I am searching for the father of John Henry Cogdill b. abt 1888
brother Jesse Cogdill b. abt 1883 sister Ruth and Ada
their mother's name was S. Delia last name unknown. This family resided on Spring Creek Madison Co NC. This family shows up on the 1900-1920 census for Madison Co NC but the father isn't listed. Apparently already died. Hope you can fill in the holes for me. Your help much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!! Sincerely Kathy
P.S. Delia reamarried to a Pressly in Madison Co NC.....then they removed to McDowell Co in the late 1920's. John Henry married Ellen Justice of Spring Creek Madison Co NC.

I am the grand daughter of William Andy Cogdill (Sept 10, 1884 - May 10, 1946) from the Del Rio, Tn area. My grandmother was Jeanette (Nettie) Lou Rogers Williamson (Oct 24, 1884 - April 13, 1961). They had 2 daughters, moved to Spartanburg, SC where they are buried. I think he had a brother somewhere in SC.
