Just thought I'd clarify which Asa Cogar this is. He was the son of William "Skelt Bill" Cogar and Mary Bender. And was married to #1 Julia Ann Simmons and #2 Arvilla Serber Gregory.

Would really like to learn more about the Webster Springs Cogars... I don't know much about my husbands family and would love to learn more about them so that my family can learn more... We actually live in Lewis County WV... I do my husbands father's name is Gary Allen Cogar but I don't know much past that...

Dottie sounds really familiar, seems to me it was my aunt's name? And Cowger was my step-grandad's name, who always insisted on being called "pap". He was what we called a "runner" in the old days. He was a few times removed cousin of some sort as I remember being told? Grandma ran a still "back in hoover's time" as pop always said. Dad's name was Ervin Cogar. So pap was the driver or "runner", which was a bit more vague for obvious reasons. Even in his old age, he took me on his Watkins route, driving those WV backroads like Fangio! Great driver. My real Grandpa's name was Warrick & Grandma was Dora. Hope this helps?

Just tried the rootsweb link again, & "page not found"? Trying to get back into this & begin again. I'm writing my 2nd book on home brewing beer & got to wondering about any family that might've been brewers? It'd be cool to brew up an old family ale recipe. Besides just finding further info.
