Some parts of Tusc. County are now in Carrol County, just for information. Should someone need a local lookup I can try and see what I can come up with.

I'm trying to locate some information on Levi Caldwell, born 1810(possibly in Mass). His father came to Tuscarawas Co, and is shown on atleast the 1840 and 1850 census, and Levi shows up in at least one. He shows up in the Wyandot census for 1850, he married Catherine Smith in 1833 in Harrison Co, but he could have moved back to Tuscarawas before moving to Wyandot Co.
Can you look him up? He should have shown up on an 1830 census somewhere, too.

My great grandfathers name was John Milton Cogan. As far as I know he died in Cincinnati around 1900. His wifes name was Mary Mahone and they had 3 children. Daughter
Josephine Mary. Son named John (World War 1 vet.) Youngest daughter Margret.Another family name was Calahan, and they were twin cousins to my mother.

If this looks familiar to anyone please contact me.

Do you know names of his parents, I have an extensive list of Cogan's from Ohio but no John Milton. However I have a John Cogan born in 1825 who was first married to a Hannah who had a Son named John who was six months old in the 1850 Census for Stark County Lexington TWP, and another John Cogan who was married to a Jannetta Martin, not sure if any of these are connecting.

Dear Ron,

Thankyou for responding. I don't believe that those are the same John Cogan I'm looking for, though the younger one would be the right time frame to be his father.

Heres what I know. My great great grandparents came from Ireland. They got themselves a covered wagon and went looksing for that purfect piece of land. Seventeen years and thirteen children later, great great grandma gets out of the covered wagon in Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinatti and says "You can do whatever you want, but I'm not moving another inch!" So of course thats where they finally setteled.
(I would have been out of the wagon a whole lot faster than that I can tell you!) Anyway I don't know if that was Johns family or Mary Mahoney's family, but if it sounds familiar to anybody, please contact me.
Thanks again, Daryl

Auglaize County in Ohio has three Cogan' s listed that came from Silgo County Ireland, in the 1870 Census John was 44, Malwee was 18, Patrick was 56 and Thomas was 36. Another Patrick born in Ireland is living in Cincinnati who is 45, not sure if this helps you any.
