Just happened to be net surfing and stumble on this a few years later and don't know if you were able to find any more information. I hope you did. I know very little but do know that when Ione was very young, she was very involved in communicating with the east coast cofrans and was able to get ahold of your grandfathers mother, which infurated him. Uncle Miki was born in 1941 and Grandpa met your grandmother shortly after that. Miki would have been 2 or 3 years old when Uncle LeRoy would have been born and thats about when they met. Your grandfather is from Littleton New Hampshire and I believe his ancestors came from Quebec (hence the french canadian name) your grandmother was an abanake indian, but do not know what percentage. Uncle kealii went on a motorcycle trip around 10 years ago through new hampshire and talked to some of the local librarians that new your grandfather. I know that after 35 years of being away from his family, he went back to pay his respects when his mother died and was not well received and syblings were in disagreement over how the assets would be dispersed. He left never to return or communicate with them again. We've seen a few Cofran's on the west coast and one Cofran has a winery in Napa! Aunty Ione would want to find out more about this guy!! Anyway, I hope this helps if you haven't already satisfied your curiosity, talked to uncle LeRoy as well. He's in Hawaii now on vacation and he will be going back to colorado springs after the snow melts. He did some geneology study on the cofran family and may have some information.
