I am researching my family. My grandfather last name was given Greathouse. I came across a lady 10 years plus and when she said her last name was Greathouse we instantly started talking. She brought me a copy from the Greathouse Family Records. In the record it shows a Louisa Jane (Cofran)Greathouse born in Louisville, Kentucky, January 8, 1838. Parents died when she was very young and raised by an Uncle Ed. Shelton. She was the only child. died January 21, 1884. She married a Robert W. Greathousse born February 8, 1838, London England. Came to US in 1859. Died 1912 in Winchester, Ohio. I notice many of her family lived in Colorado, sstarti9ng with a Martha Jane Greathouse (Mattie Lowell) born June 226, 1872. Died March 1943 in Durango, Colorado and buried at Bayfield. Therre is also a Nancy Cathrine Greathouse (Sapp) born November 26, 1877 and died July 6, 1949. Durango Co. A Fredrick Orland Greathouse born March 26, 1881. Died Maarch 15, 1951.
