Michael, I have a Horace Coffen, who was born in Iowa about 1884 (death records say 29 Nov 1881, but that seems too early), and died in Santa Clara, California on 2 Feb 1967. He was the son of Warren D. Coffen and Ellen Derusha. Warren was the son of John I. Coffin and Clarissa Nelson, both of Oneida County, New York. Horace married Nettie Stolte, and had three daughters, Iva M. (7 Sep 1911-10 Jul 1989), Marlys (b. 1917), and Margaret (b. 1919), and one son Mark Lamere (3 Dec 1914 - 25 Aug 1986). I think this is your family. E-mail me for more information.

I knew Hazel Coffen Very well. I can share many stories about her, her husband Jim and her two son's Kenny and Lyle. I spent many summers in Lake Tomahawk. I visited My Aunt every year that I was able to and right up until she passed. I still visit her grave along with my dad's and the others I loved that have passed. If you are interested I would be willing to start a dialog and share as much of her life with you as you would want to know. She was a teacher, mother wife and a grand lady to all that knew her.

Michael, My grandmother was Ella Genevieve Coffin and she was the sister of Horace Coffin. My records show that he was married to Nettie Stolte and had four childre: Mark, Iva, Marlis and Margaret. I show that Mark was married to Dorothy Hodgkins and had one child who I believe would by your father Dennis. I would be happy to share what I have.
