Hi, I'm trying to do my family tree and I'm having a bit of trouble on my mother's side. I have some info that I can't really read the hand writting, but the surnames are Guttadauria, DiVincenzo, Piccione, Averna,. My family lived in Jamestown Ny and came from Sicilly. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Julie

my mother's maiden name is Catalano, Her family is from Lercara Friddi, Sicily- province of Palermo. Her Maternal grandfather's last name was FERLICE.
The Ferlice last name is very rare......one source says it's Turkish. Other Ferlices turn up in South America. Any info on Ferlice Sicilian Ancestry?

I am a Vollo and I noticed this is one of the family names mentioned in this post. Piecing the family together if I can help in anyway.
ALSO, In my family tree, or closely related to it, is Catalano. One of my ancestors, Eugenia Sinatra, from Lercara Friddi, Sicily married a Catalano.

thanks for your response. When i went to Lercara to visit the Catalanos, the Sinatras lived right next door. My maternal grandfather was Tomaso Catalano, I believe he had 1 brother & 2 sisters that were still alive when I visited in the mid 80's
My cousin still lives there, his name is Gaetano Catalano & i believe he makes furniture.
FYI, my Uncle, here in the states is Tom Catalano, the famous music producer. Most noted for producing all of Helen Reddy & Neil Diamond's big hits.
