Kathy, I don't know that much but here's the way my mother told me. Alex married Harriet Poole ( Cherokee Indian). They lived in Dayton, Tn. That's where I was born, but have lived in Chattanooga most of my life. Mother said Alex used to go to the "saloons" in Dayton, and Harriet( she was a little woman) would go in make him leave. They had a daughter ( Elizabeth), who was my great grandmother. I remember her, but never saw Alex or Harriet. Elizabeth married a dutchman named Jim Potter.
