COE, son of
Drury W. and Mary (
Langley)
COE, was born in January 1854 in
Georgia. Rather small, about 140 pounds, he lived in
Upson County in 1880 and before 1900 moved to
Meriwether County. A farmer, with a mustache, he grew watermel-ons on rented land between
Greenville and
Woodbury. He was a member of Friendship
Baptist Church. He died of heart disease May 11, 1934, at
Route 4,
Greenville. Burial was at
Jones Chapel Church Cemetery, on
Route 85, north of
Woodbury.
He married December 20, 1875, in
Pike County,
GA, Mary F. McGraw, born January 1854, died February 3, 1940, daughter of William and Sarah
McGraw. Burial was at
Jones Chapel Cemetery.
