I am interested in hearing from anyone who may have information on or be related to the Codds of Meadowlands and Garr in Co. Wexford, Ireland. I am also in talking to anyone who can trace their family back to Osbert Codd, who arrived in Wexford c 1170, and whose family lived at Castletowncarne and migrated north.

Do you know if you have any CODD living in Eastern Washington State? Edmund Patrick Codd the son of Frank Codd and Patrick Codd are just a few of the names in this branch. Thank you.

I don't know of any, but there were Codds from Garr who immigrated to Wyoming and Nebraska in the late 1800's. One of the brothers, John CODD had many children. Some of them may be ancestors of the CODDS in eastern Washington.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Georges, and the Codds in Wicklow were more often than not Protestant. The name is primarily found in the south of WExford, but one member of the family turned Protestant in the 1600's. My dad thinks the Protestant members went to Wicklow because they were ostracized by the rest of the family, and there was a lot of bad feeling toward anyone who took on the Protestant faith at that time.

However, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of there being a connection.

Do you know the names of the children of George Codd and Mary? I have Henrietta Codd who married John Flinn Dec 31, 1823 and they settled in Kitley, Ontario.

From the Kitley History Book, John Flinn purchased Lot 3, Concession 3 from Joseph Codd in 1826. Appreciate any information that you may have. delefev@tm.net.my
