Hi,
My husband is a Codd of Aughnagan Wexford. I believe that back a couple of generations, these changed to Codes when they emigrated to America. Is this of any help to you?

Hi Mary Anne,

I'm married to a current day Codd from Aughnagan. If you are still looking for information, please contact me.

Darlene,
It has been awhile since this post, but I believe your Patrick was the brother of my James b. Abt 1795? H/o Francis Barrett. I have spent years trying to prove their parents as John and Elizabeth w/ no luck. You suggest a possible wife as Mary Codd - have you found any leads on this? Also, this suggests the possiibillity of a brother Micheal? I will pursue this lead, please orward anything more on this.

That latter would apply to just about any Irish Codd, and all the Codes and a third of the Coads in North America. However, this Osbert is a bit of a mythical figure, though we have some theories.

Dont know of anyone who can trace descent back to Codds of Castletown Carne ~ 1700 - Irish records are too difficult.

I am one of the descendants of John CODD in Nebraska. The Codd name was changed to Coad, but should be the same as I know they were from Garr, near Enniscorthy in County Wexford, Ireland. Let me know if you are still out there since this was posted 14 years ago.

Saw your post of August 7 2014, posted as "anonymous". I am descendant of CODD famly of Garr, Wexford. My gr. grandmother Maria CODD KEATING was a first cousin to the John Coad of your photo. Her son, my grandfather Nicholas Keating worked at the Coad ranch in Wyoming in the 1920's when my father was about 8 y/o. Just wondering if you and I have ever corresponded in the past.
