Albert Coccarelli, age 85, of Erie,Pa,
passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012,
at St. Mary's Home of Erie, East.
Born in Erie on January 21, 1927,
he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paumpaio Coccarelli. Albert was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army. He retired in 1987 from the General Electric Co. with 41 years of service, most recently as a welding inspector.
Albert was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris "Jean" Himes Coccarelli in 2009; his stepson, Michael Pius; five sisters; Eleanor Morrison, Pauline Montgomery, Ida Ramondi, Teresa Barrow and Kay Gustafson; and a brother, Joe Correll. Albert is survived by three sons: George Coccarelli and his wife, Debbie of Raleigh, N.C., Albert Coccarelli, Jr. of Erie, and Bob Coccarelli and his wife, Cori of Harborcreek; a stepdaughter Susan Kuhn and her husband, Kenny of Millcreek; three stepsons, Daniel Pius and his wife, Lori of Harborcreek, James Pius and his wife Shelly of Millcreek and David Pius of Harborcreek. Albert is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Jamie, David, Michael, Jessica, Amy, Julie, Terah, Cory, Camryn, Jared, Dana and Danielle; four great grandchildren: Isa, Phoebe, Violet and Ezra, and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend services there Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., with Rev. Msgr. Daniel K. Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
