Searching for Cobb Family from Clay and Nicholas Counties around 1860-1870 when area changed from Virginia to West Virginia

Classification: Birth
Surnames: Cobb - Backus
I'm searching for any relation to my great-great grandmother Frances Ellen Cobb born in 1852 in Clay County. From what I can find, she was married 1st to Richard Backus and had a son, William Andrew Backus. She was married 2nd to General Houston Harrah, and 3rd to Benjamin Hess. I have found several pieces of information after 1880. The only thing I can find earlier is a census from 1860 when she was 8 years old living with the McGraw family.
I have not been able to find anything of her mother / father or siblings. Her son, William, is my great grandfather. He was born in 1871. I'm really interested in finding any record of the period between 1860 and 1874. She married her 2nd husband in 1874. I can't find any type of birth records for my great grandfather, William, or anything at all for his father, Richard Backus, if that is really his 1st name, not sure. Does anyone know of Frances Ellen Cobb's family? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Surnames: Cobb, Nichols.
born 20 Apr 1860 in Clay Co, VA, dtr of Hildebert Cobb and Sarah Nichols. I think perhaps the year of birth is incorrect if she married first in 1871 she would definitely be too young to marry at age 11...

Thank you for your response. So far, I have been able to find 4 individuals in the same area around the same time named Frances Cobb. Looks like there are some cousin connections between all of them as well. One of them is the Frances (daughter of Sarah) you are referring to, but I found a death record showing she died as an infant. I'm starting to think the Frances Cobb I am looking for is the dtr of John M. Cobb and Frances Nichols (Cobb). It also looks like Frances Nichols (Cobb) died when the children were young and the girls were sent to live with the Nichols family. I'm still trying to find complete evidence, but it is leaning that direction. Thanks again for your help.
