I am looking for information on Charles Donald Cobb who was born 05/28/1932 and died 03/10/2003. If anyone happens to have any information on this person, I would really like to exchange information with you?

He's white and I am assuming that he lived in South Carolina

Okay thanks....my Cobbs are African American from the Kentucky area....but good luck in your search.

Here's what I find. Strangely enough, this Cobb family was from Alabama.

Obituary of Charles Donald Cobb - Published in The Greenville News: 03-11-2003

Charles Donald Cobb, 70, of 138 Lake Forest Circle, died Monday, March 10, 2003. Husband of Jessie Franklin Cobb, he was born in Greenville County, a son of the late Rev. L.L. Cobb and Maureen Bennefield Cobb. Mr. Cobb was an employee of Shedd Foods and attended Grace Temple Church of God.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Charles "Donnie" Cobb and wife, Karen, of Fayetteville, N.C., Steve Cobb and wife, Debbie, of Pelzer, Tim Cobb and wife, Jean, Tony Cobb, and Darren Cobb all of Easley; daughters, Tara Byers of Fayetteville and Tracy Scoggins and husband, Duane, of Rutherfordton, N.C.; and a brother, J.W. Cobb and wife, Edna, all of Greenville; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, the Rev E.V. Cobb and J.C. Cobb.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. The family is at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 414-A Pettigru St., Greenville,SC 29601.

J.W. Cobb, 74, of 507 Wren Way, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, after a valiant struggle with a long illness. Born in Greenville County, he was the beloved husband of Edna Kelly Cobb and a son of the late Rev. L.L. Cobb and Lillie Morene Cobb.

Prior to Mr. Cobb’s retirement, he was a custom home builder and the owner of Cobb Builders. He was a Greenville County Magistrate and was a member of Greenville First Wesleyan Church.

He is survived by his dearly loved wife and sons and their families. Their sons are, Ron L. Cobb of Greenville, Dr. and Mrs. Larry W.(Carol) Cobb of Greenville and Mr. and Mrs. H. Marett (Susan) Cobb of Ft. Worth, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren so dear to his heart. The grandchildren are Amanda Robertson and her husband Jonathan, Chris Cobb, Kevin Cobb, Matthew Cobb and Justin Cobb. His great-grandchildren are Megan Cobb, Christopher Jay Cobb, and Andrew Cobb. He was predeceased by his brothers, the Rev. E.V. Cobb, Jasper Cobb and Donald Cobb.

A celebration of Mr. Cobb’s life and homegoing will be held at Greenville First Wesleyan Church, 103 South Texas Ave. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at noon. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church. The body will be available for viewing at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest today after 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials in his memory to St. Francis Hospice, 414 Pettigru St., Greenville, SC 29601. The family is at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Cobb.
