Would anyone know of this man? He was my great great grandfather. He was born in Georgia and his father and mother were also born in Georgia. Has anyone located him as a child on a census in MS or GA?

been 12 years since you've posted, and I as well pop on and off. lost papers on obits. but yesterday and today was trying again. W.L Cobb is also (according to a census and obits) my Great Great Grandfather. I also saw in obit that the name Mrs. B Hartzog of Palestine, TX was a daughter to M.E. Cobb, wife of W.L. Cobb. This side of the family is now via the female side. Their daughter Carrie Louise Cobb (Mrs Hartzog's sister) married James F Sullivan which their daughter Mildred is my grandma. I haven't been able to find anything else at this point. I know that M.E. Cobb died in Monroe, LA at her daughter Mrs. C.N. Jones according to obit that was in Winnfield, La. other daughters, Mrs Hartzog , Mrs. Katie Garner, winnfield La. Miss Lottie Cobb, Monroe, La. No mention of the son I saw on the 1880 census who was J.M. Cobb.

I believe this is William Seth Cobb, if his children were J. M. b. 1877, Carrie L, b. 1880, Kittie B. 1882, Lottie 1883, Pennie E. 1884, Mattie 1887 and Willie Louise 1888.. if so, he was son James M. Cobb and Susan Joycey Cobb.. we do not know how Susan and James were related but DNA studies show they were of the same lineage...
