Cobaugh Family of Hummelstown PA
I don't know why after all these years that I started looking for any history of my father. Bob, we may be cousins. My father was George Richard Cobaugh. He married my mother, Rita Martin Cobaugh, in Jeffersonville, IN in 1954. I was born in Harrisburg, PA in 1955. George left my mother shortly after I was born. She never liked to talk about that experience, however, I recall her mentioning his sisters, Peg and Pauline. My mother is still living. She recently gave me George's date of birth. When I ran it thru Social Security records, it showed that George died in 1973 in TN, the year I graduated from high school. Mom told me George's family was from Hummelstown and that he worked on the railroad.

COBAUGH Family in Hummelstown PA
My mother was Pauline Cobaugh. She married William Hess, Jr. who was from around the Elizabethtown, Pa. area. Mom had brothers named; George,Lewis,Eugene, Ed and John. She also had a half brother named Amos Jr.. She had sisters named; Peg and Emma and a half sister named Stella Marie. Uncle George moved to Tennessee where he raised horses. I do think that he died in the 70s if I am not mistaken. I never Knew that he had a son by the name of Anthony. Ofcourse, there is a lot I did not know about members of the Cobaugh side of the family. My family was all pretty located in the Hummelstown area. I was raised in the Hummelstown and the Hershey area most of my younger years. I was born in 1947 in Hershey. I have a brother, Don and a Sister, Linda. Don still lives in Hummelstown and Linda lives in Hazleton. I think that the only uncles that are still alive are Amos and Ed. The rest are dead. None of the aunts are alive except Stella Marie who lives in Halifax. I knew that Uncle George had either been married before or had some kind of an affair when I was younger, but I really can't remember what the situation was. I do remember that there was a possibility that he had some offspring in whatever the situation was. I live in Michigan. I go back to Pa. about once per year. Plan to go back in July. I will try to find out a bit more about your situation and will be glad to pass on to you whatever I find out. I will call my Aunt Mildred and my Aunt (our) Stella Marie and see if they can give me some insight into this matter. Aunt Mildred was married to John Cobaugh. Write again. This is really neat!! Bob

RE: COBAUGH Family in Hummelstown PA
Forgot to tell you. I have a family history for the Cobaugh family that goes back to around 1785. My uncle John and I worked on it just before he died. I am trying to retype it and get any updates that I can. Looks like I will definitely be updating part of it anyhow. What is your email address? Bob
