I am looking for information on Coady`s who emigrated from this area during the late 1800s/early 1900s who will have connections with the LUCAS family.

Surnames: Coady
Jean,
this may be something of a shot out of left field
but there was a Coady family from Carrick on Suir
that emigrated to the Margaree area of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
about 75 years earlier than you're looking for (i.e., 1820s to 1830s)

there are a few listings for them in the ancestry.com
(look for the children of Michael Coady and Elanor Fitzgerald)
incidentally, this family line includes
Father Moses Coady and Father Jimmy Tompkins
(both grandchildren of Michael's son Martin)
who are considered two of Canada's greatest social reformers
having started what is known as the Antigonish Movement

Reply to Tim.,

Many thanks for your information - very interesting - will try and follow this up as this will certainly be my family if they are from Carrick-on-Suir.

Howdy Cuz. Funny seeing you here! As I was checking the maigret family trees, I came across my brother in-laws name and his spouse a maigret; it turned out to be that someone did the family tree for my brother in-laws mothers side. The laidys name is anne Coady who is on this message board. She is related to my brother inlaw. As I scrolled the message board, I came across your name. It's funney cause I never saw your name on ancestery.com Not even on the D'arche message board. Anyhow; Hi, Bob Maigret

My g-g-grandfather Stephen Cody (Coady) was b. abt. 1820 in Clonmel, Tipperary, IRE which is very close to Carrick-on-Suir. He married Bridget and the family moved to Manchester, Eng. About 1875 many of them immigrated to MA.
Can you give me more info. about your family? Please reply either way if you get this message.

Hey Ann,
A post with good info on the Coadys who ended up in Margaree is at: http://boards.ancestry.families.aol.com/thread.aspx?m=89&....
Anne Coady, who authored the post, seems to have a lot of information on the family.
Best of luck.
