Yes, this is interesting. My Grandmother had mentioned several times that there were Cousins that lived in Cuyogha Co. Ohio and Cleveland. I've seen the names mentioned on several boards and in the SSDI, but have never been able to make a connection.
I was told years ago that the name CMOLIK is not uncommon in CZ, particularly around the Prague and Pilzen areas. Whether all related or connected is unknown as it is so hard to get Genealogy info out of CZ.
Pechova Lhota, Milevsko and Skorice are not that far from each other. I've also had correspondence with CMOLIK's in BC Canada who's ancestors emigrated from Rozmital Pod Tremsinem CZ; which is actually somewhere between Milevsko and Skorice. Again, we never found a common connection either.
One other point, ANDELOVA was commonly changed to ADEL in America. Why the N was dropped is not clear to me.
VACLAV (James) CMOLIK's known brothers and sisters were:
Antoinette b. abt 1875 d. 1944
Anna b. 1888 d. 1970
Anton b. abt 1891 d. 1959
These four all emigrated to America between 1905 and 1912 and all lived in and around Chicago IL.
The town where my Grandparents were born, Kolvin, was taken over by the military and the few inhabitants were forced to move. Some went to Skorice, which is just a few miles up the road. There are still some CMOLIK's living there.
It would be wonderful if we could find a connection.

I DO NOT KNOW VERY MUCH ABOUT MY FATHERS FAMILY, HE HAD A TWIN BROTHER WHO DIED IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR, A SISTER NAMED CAROLINE, ANOTHER SISTER WHO WAS A NUN. THAT'S IT. HE NEVER SPOKE OF HIS FAMILY.THERE ARE HOWEVER MANY CMOLIK'S IN CUYAHOGA CO. MY MOTHER MARY ANN ANDELOVA AND HER SISTER BESSIE WERE THE ONLY TWO FROM THE FAMILY WHO CAME TO AMERICA. MY MOTHER WAS THE OLDEST OF 18 CHILDREN. MY GRANDFATHER JOSEPH, WAS THE OBSTAT OF HIS VILLAGE. (OPAZANY). I HAVE MANY LETTERS AND PICTURE, BUT NO TIME TO GET THEM OUT AT THIS TIME OF YEAR, BUT AFTER THE HOLIDAYS I WILL TRY TO FIND THEM. I HOPE THERE IS A CONNECTION, BUT IT DOESN'T LOOK PROMISING. FOND REGARDS

I know how it is with the holidays.
I would definitely like to continue this conversation after the first of the year. I still think there is a slight chance that there is a family connection there someplace. Maybe we can find it.
